What is Somerset Studio Share?
The studio is a 2000 sq. foot shared modern photography studio and client meeting space that is located in the downtown Wauwatosa Village. It is available to a limited number of members who wish to maintain studio space in centrally located Wauwatosa without the hassles and costs of a full-time studio. Although there are advantages to home-based businesses, there are times when a separate space is necessary to project professionalism and reach out to the community. Somerset Studio Share offers its members flexible access to a beautiful and versatile studio space and a wide variety of outdoor shoot locations that are easily accessible from the studio.
What are the member benefits?
For a very affordable monthly fee, you will have access to a professional photography studio where you can hold your photography sessions, meet with engaged couples, meet with portrait clients for pre-session consultations, conduct your in-person sales sessions, and use it as a starting place for an outdoor session in the village area (allowing the client to have a comfortable place to change outfits, etc). Your membership also includes access to a private Facebook group with other members where you can exchange information, ask for advise, share leads if you are booked, and bounce ideas off one another. Other great benefits is the ability to share your work at one of the Gallery Events, access to educational workshops, Limited Edition sets, and prop sales.
What is in the studio?
The studio has North-facing windows that provide beautiful, even light throughout the day. There is also the option to close them off and use the provided studio lighting. Various furniture, backdrops, and props will also be provided for your use. New items are added regularly so keep things fresh. You are also invited to bring your own lights, backdrops, and props with you for use in your session. Click “Home” on the website menu bar or visit us on Facebook for photos of the studio.
Is WIFI available?
Yes, WIFI is provided.
When can I use the studio?
The operating hours of the studio are 8am-10pm, 7 days/week. The studio may be reserved in 2-hour blocks: 8am-10am, 10am-12pm, 12pm-2pm, 2-4pm, 4-6pm, 6-8pm 8pm-10pm. You are free to use the studio at any time during theses hours as long as you have reserved it. Your membership level will determine the number of time slots available to you in a given month. You will have your own key code, which will give you access to the building.
How do I reserve a timeslot?
You will reserve your session time through our online reservation system. Once you have reserved your timeslot, they will be listed in your account so that you can keep track of your usage per month. Shooting times may be reserved in 2-hour increments. You may reserve more than one 2-hour time slots in a row or even the whole day.
How often can I shoot?
An entry level membership allows you 4 time slots, which is 8 hours, and includes one weekend timeslot. Whatever your studio need, we have membership levels to accommodate your growing business.
How accessible is the studio?
The studio is located in the Village of Wauwatosa. There are plenty of metered parking spots on the surrounding streets. There are also two parking lots conveniently located on the west and east sides of the building with in walking distance.
How much is a membership?
Twelve-month memberships starts at $125 per month with something for every budget.
What outdoor options are there?
Downtown Wauwatosa offers beautiful outdoor locations to capture the memories you desire. There are unique building structures, railroad tracks, a river with a rustic bridge, and variety of green spaces to choose from.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, there is a $400 security deposit. Further information will be available when you register.
What if I need more time slots in a particular month?
Additional time slots beyond the agree-upon allotment may be reserved starting at $30/slot, if openings on the calendar permits.
Can I rent studio space if I am not a member?
Yes, you can rent space as a non- member! You may contact management with a date and times request. If the studio is available and will not interfere with any members use, your request will be granted. Pricing is as follows: $40 per hour weekdays / $60 per hour weekends. A minimum of 2 hours is required. Full and half day discounts available. Credit Card required.
